Handy ZBrush

Tips, Shortcuts, features and procedures that we normally use when working with this 3D Modeling Tool. 

This section is used from us to keep adding bits every now and again.

▶️ Shortcuts for the day to day

Select Subtool from the scene

Rotate Scene

Pan the Objects from the scene

Zoom IN/ Out by moving the mouse Up/ Down - Left/ Right

Clean Screen

Hover the mouse over any feature and click Ctrl to get some info

Make Polygroup of the selected mesh, selecting also Polygroup color.

Moving the Gizmo to the desired place.

Perspective Mode

Edit Mode

Draw Mode

Move Gizmo

Rotate Gizmo

Scale Gizmo

Symmetry Activation

Wireframe

Divide Mesh (SDiv + 1)

Reduce Mesh Division (SDiv - 1)

Dynamesh the mesh again if Dynamesh Active

Masking Mesh

Smooth Mask by clicking LMB on mesh + Ctrl

Define Mask by clicking LMB on mesh + Ctrl + Alt

Clearing Mask by draging the mouse in an empty space

Swap Mask-No Mask by LMB click in an empty place.

Reduce Mesh Selection

Entire Mesh Selection

▶️ Favorite Brushes

Move Brush - This will allow you to move the mesh based on your brush config

Move Topological Brush - Same Move Brush but focused on Polygroups

hPolish Brush. This flattens surfaces

ClayBuildup Brush for amazing organic sculptings

Standard Brush for organic shapes

DamStandard Brush for defined and deep picks and valleys.

Do you want to Reduce the Number of Auto-Saves?
Preferences > QuickSave > Maximum Duration

ZBrush Accepts perfectly the 3DConnexion Mouse to Move/ Rotate/ Zoom the Scene.

Do you want to disconnect the ScreenSaver?  Preferences > ScreenSaver On/Off.
